Clear answers based on our standard
800 Handy painting and wall repair process.
What exactly is included in the $1,090 price?
The price includes removal of the existing
wallpaper and adhesive, one skim coat
using all purpose joint compound,
sanding and preparation, one coat
of primer, two coats of standard
interior wall paint, floor protection
and final cleanup. It covers approximately
240 square feet of wall surface.
The $100 first time customer discount
is already included.
Why does this project require two visits?
After removing the wallpaper, the wall
needs preparation and a coat of
joint compound. The compound must dry
before sanding and painting.
The first visit handles removal and
skim coating. The second visit handles
sanding, priming, painting and cleanup.
This separation helps deliver a more
consistent finish.
Will the walls be completely smooth?
Our goal is a clean, professionally
prepared surface suitable for painting.
This estimate includes one skim coat.
Some walls may require additional
coats or repairs for a fully smooth
finish, especially if removing
wallpaper reveals damaged drywall.
Any extra work would be discussed
and approved before proceeding.
What happens if the wallpaper is difficult to remove?
Wallpaper removal varies depending on
the original adhesive, wall preparation,
age and existing surface conditions.
We include standard removal and
adhesive cleanup in this estimate.
If unusually stubborn adhesive,
damaged drywall or multiple wallpaper
layers are discovered, we will
explain any required scope adjustment
before performing additional work.
What type of compound, primer and paint will you use?
The included skim coat uses all purpose
joint compound or an appropriate
equivalent. We select primer suitable
for the condition of the exposed
surface. Standard professional interior
wall paint is included in one color.
Benjamin Moore contractor grade paint
may be used depending on availability
and the selected specification.
Premium, specialty and zero VOC
products can be discussed separately.
Will my floor, doors and existing fixtures be protected?
Yes. We will protect the existing tile
flooring and nearby fixtures within the
work area, mask appropriate edges and
clean the immediate work area once
the project is completed.
Painting the doors, ceiling, frames
or baseboards is not included.
Does 800 Handy provide insurance for building approval?
800 Handy maintains general liability
and workers compensation coverage.
Our standard general liability limits
are $1 million per occurrence and
$2 million aggregate. We can coordinate
a certificate of insurance for your
building, including standard additional
insured requirements where available.
Special endorsements or building
administrative charges may require
a separate fee. Final approval
remains with building management.
How long does building authorization take?
Some buildings process contractor
authorization within approximately
24 to 48 hours after receiving
complete documentation. Actual timing
depends on management requirements,
insurance review and building policies.
We recommend booking early so
coordination can begin before
the proposed start date.
What are the permitted working hours?
The proposed scheduling window is
9 AM to 5 PM. Some Miami condominium
buildings restrict contractor work
to shorter hours, such as
9 AM to 4:30 PM.
We follow the approved building
schedule and do not perform
unauthorized after hours work.
How do the booking payments work?
The total project price is $1,090.
Your first payment is 25%, or $272.50,
to reserve the proposed start date.
Another $272.50 is due upon our arrival
for the first visit. The remaining
$545 is due upon completion of
the agreed scope. The booking deposit
is part of the total, not an
additional charge.
Can I pay by credit card, debit card or Zelle?
Yes. You can use the secure
Stripe booking link for card payment,
or contact Hector to request
Zelle payment instructions.
Zelle payments should be confirmed
before the appointment is reserved.
Any payment method adjustment
must be confirmed in writing.
What if the walls need more time to dry?
Drying depends on humidity, ventilation,
compound thickness and wall condition.
We allow at least 24 hours between
visits, but we will not apply primer
or paint over compound that remains wet.
If the surface needs more drying time,
we will coordinate a revised
finishing visit.
Do I need to purchase any materials?
No standard materials are required
from you for the listed scope.
The estimate includes standard
compound, primer, interior wall paint
and ordinary protective supplies.
Specialty paint selections, extensive
repairs and additional finishing
beyond the included scope may
require a separate approved amount.
Is the $100 first time customer discount already applied?
Yes. The original project subtotal
is $1,190. Your first time customer
discount is $100, making the
final quoted total $1,090.
The payment schedule is calculated
from that discounted amount.
What happens after I pay my booking deposit?
We confirm receipt of the deposit,
verify the proposed appointment,
coordinate any necessary building
authorization and confirm access,
paint color and preparation details.
Your start date is finalized
after scheduling and building
approval requirements are satisfied.
